The Sycamore Education Foundation would like to announce the theme of its fun, community-wide annual grant funding event Take Root: A Harvest Hoedown.

Take Root is an annual event with food, music and silent auctions to support education in the Sycamore School District. This event has been long-standing in the community approaching 10 years. This year’s event will be held 6 to 11 p.m. on September 23 at Dayton Farms, 17443 Old State Road.

Tickets are on sale on the website or by order from a board member. The theme of the event, location and other surprises have be announced leading up until the event on the Sycamore Education Foundation social media sites. ‘Like’ the Facebook page and look to the website for more updates.

Food will be catered by Catering by Diann (Tom and Jerry’s of Sycamore, 1670 DeKalb Ave.)
Drinks will be made special by Taxco Restaurant, 223 W. State St.
Live music will feature the famous Live At Joe’s, back for a repeat engagement.

“You will not be disappointed in this evening of celebration and community spirit,” said Eric Biletzky, Sycamore Education Foundation chairperson. “While fundraising is an important goal, so is the recognition of those who help the foundation fulfill its mission such as the school district and its excellent staff, this year’s Distinguished Sycamore Alumni inductees, and of course the generous community members who make fulfilling our mission possible.”

The 2017 Distinguished Alumni:
Miki Racine Berardelli ’88, Chief Executive Officer of KIDBOX
In honor of the late Brian Michael Finn ’85, Patent developer and engineer
Gary Holland ’56, Entrepreneur and business owner

The Alumni induction ceremony is free and open to the public, and includes a guided tour of the high school, appetizers and refreshments and words from each of the honorees. See THIS POST for more details

What we do:
The Foundation receives and distributes donations from generous individuals and businesses to enrich
educational opportunities for students in the Sycamore School District #427. These donations allow edu-
cators to continue to enhance and innovate their curriculums when funding is not otherwise available
through regular resources. The Sycamore Education Foundation supports the more than 3,565 students,
faculty and administrators of Sycamore School District #427.
Mission:
The mission of the Sycamore Education Foundation is to enhance learning experiences through engage-
ment and community resources. It is the goal of the Sycamore Education Foundation to provide funding
for projects that will allow talented professionals to use their abilities to the fullest extent. We invite edu-
cators, the general public, parents and students to submit proposals for consideration by the foundation.
